fashion - an outfit takes on it's own life, channelling new concepts, stories, emotions.
Suddenly fashion means more than cute jeans and boots. It has life.
It is passionate and communicative.
I see truth in a quote by Anna Wintour which reads;
"There is something about fashion that can make people really nervous."
I see that fashion can, in a sense, be terrifying, exclusive, and threatening but there is so much
abhorrence for the outsider who dresses in couture. I wonder how solitary life can feel in such
'armour' as Daphne calls it. Like the lives of so many women in the past, it's not so often
that we get to see the world through the eyes of a silenced bird. Instead we see them
on sites like Cele/bitchy ... gross, but apparently the perfect place for woman-bashing!
What I have learned from a few inspiring women is the importance of networking and finding
your people. In a world where we will forever be condoned, there is bound to be someone
like us.. right?
